2008

I'm not feeling particularly bloggy lately for some reason. But I think 2008 deserves a quick retrospective.

It was my first full year of being a real grown-up. My first full year of living completely on my own (in a manner of speaking). I moved to Shelbyville, into the first apartment I've really loved. I got engaged! and became obsessed with, then bored by wedding planning. I started saving for our first house and got my credit rating pretty high. I got approved for a raise, though I wont actually see it for another month or so. I spent more time hanging out with friends, which is fantastic. It helps living close to people. I saw my first UK game in Rupp Arena. I lost 20 pounds. The Columbus Crew won the MLS championship. I voted for my first presidential winner! Actually, I think I voted for my first winner at all, on the federal level. All in all, it was a pretty good year for me. I mean, the economy sucks and we're still at war and a lot of things are pretty uncertain. But I think I'll remember 2008 as a year of small victories.

Laura, your year sounds great, really. 2008 was a pretty good one for me, and a pretty good illustration of the subtitle of your blog. By the way, have you read Equus? If you haven't you perhaps should. I read it today and it was fantastic. And it's playing on Broadway if you ever make it up NYC and CT way. . . .

I'll check it out.

The blog subtitle comes from the title of this painting in the Columbus Art Museum. I really loved the title; the painting was ok.

I will def. make sure that they take pictures :) :) :)

You two should come up to Columbus Feb 11 for the US v. Mexico game! I don't know if I can afford to buy the tickets (cheapest ones are around $50) but if anything we can go out to a soccer pub and watch the game!
